Young people – single, married, and families – are moving back to the city in large numbers. Unafraid of the city, these urban dwellers are reviving areas once emptied by suburban flight. Yet, churches continue to move – and be planted – in the suburbs, leaving a major demographic unreached by the good news of Jesus. Spiritually starving, these young people need to see the gospel represented to them where they live, work and play. In our case, this area is the Brookside/Waldo area of Kansas City.

This area is uniquely young, with nearly 20% of the population between the ages of 25-35. These highly educated young adults include many young singles, married couples, and families. This location is the target area for Mission 242: Planting a church for the city
